How the Career Simulator works
Career Simulator is a browser CS2 career mode: you create a pro, sign with a team, play events season by season, make lifestyle choices, and chase Major invites. This guide walks through each phase so your first run feels like a plan, not a random walk.
The career loop in one sentence
You build a player identity, join an organization, then repeat a loop of transfer windows, lifestyle decisions, LAN and online events, and season summaries until you retire, burn out, or win enough to be remembered. Progress saves in the browser — no account needed.
Create your player
On the create screen you set nick, age, country, position (rifler, IGL, or sniper), favorite org, and starting level. Three tiers shape the opening: Young star (tier 1) starts strong, Rising (tier 2) is the middle path, and Underdog (tier 3) begins as an unknown with more to prove.
You also pick a starting organization — search for a specific club or let the game draw one at random when your career begins. OVR, mental attributes, and contract terms are rolled when you enter the game board. That snapshot is your baseline for every transfer and bench fight ahead.
Season calendar and events
The main board shows your roster, mental sidebar, and upcoming events pulled from a real-world-style CS calendar. Each event you play runs through a simulated bracket; your personal rating, prize money, and team ranking points update from the result.
Between events the game may offer a lifestyle decision card — bootcamps, streams, drama, rest weeks, and more. Pick an option, then play the next tournament. You cannot farm decisions without playing events: after resolving a card you must complete a tournament before the next decision appears.
Seasons split into winter (events before August) and summer. At the end of a season you get a summary, age up, and unlock the next transfer window when eligible.
Rankings, roster, and the bench
Open the Ranking dialog to browse world, regional, and team lists. Points move as events finish across the circuit — your org’s place is not cosmetic. The roster panel shows teammates with OVR and rating; you are marked as “You” when in the starting five.
You are not guaranteed a starting slot. Joining a much stronger org as an underdog can bench you immediately. Later, low form, burnout, professionalism, OVR gap, or poor recent ratings can push you to the bench even on a team you “earned.” Benched players still collect salary but skip lineup decisions that require playing.
Majors, transfers, and saving
Each competitive season can include a Major. The Major dialog shows invited teams and a projection for the next championship — qualification follows a multi-stage invite model tied to HLTV-style ranks and your team’s standing. Playing deep in Majors is the long-term trophy chase.
Transfer windows offer up to three clubs plus a stay option (and retirement from age 28). Offers include role, who you replace, bench risk, and monthly contract terms. Signing locks salary for that stint; market value and career earnings grow from results and reputation.
Continue game restores your save from local storage. New game wipes the run and returns you to create-player. The mode is free, runs fully in the browser, and is in active beta — expect new cards and systems over time.
